6:00 PM - 8:30 PMHolocaust Museum of HoustonThe International Sports Film Festival Houston is presenting a very special free screening of Adidas vs. Puma at Holocaust Museum Houston on May 5th at 6 pm. Adidas vs. Puma tells the story of the Dassler brothers, who started one of the first athletic shoe companies in the world in 1920s Germany. Their story is intertwined with history and Jessie Owens's accomplishment of stomping down white supremacy with every step he took on the track at the 1936 Olympics while wearing their shoes. It also touches on the 2 US Jewish runners (Marty Glickman and Sam Stoller) who weren’t allowed to compete at the Olympics. The Dassler brothers went on to found iconic sports brands Adidas & Puma after WWII.
The movie will be shown in person. Admission is free and open to the public, but RSVP is required.
