Mazel tov to our Bat Mitzvah, Hailey Sutin, daughter of Leslie and Sam Sutin, sister of Jaden and Sari z"l, granddaughter of Cindi and Marc Steinberg and Janet and Michael Sutin. Hailey is in the 7th grade at Emery Weiner Middle School, where she participates in volleyball, soccer and track. Outside of school, she enjoys tumbling, loves hanging out with family and friends and never turns down a good book. For Hailey's Mitzvah project, she will be giving back to where she spent the first three-and-a-half months of her life. She sewed and collected sewn hearts that were given to the NICU parents to wear next to their skin, absorbing their scents. In the NICU the hearts have been placed next to their infants where they can be soothed by their parent's scent and aid in bonding, even when a parent cannot be at their bedside. They are provided in sets of two to allow the hearts to be switched out as needed. Hailey will be donating a portion of her monetary gifts to the Texas Hearing Institute to help provide services and needs for the hearing impaired world.
