So that we may honor their service and commitment, we encourage all of our Veterans to wear their medals or decorations during this special occasion so that we can better recognize and thank them all.

1983 – 1993; United States Air Force Officer and Flying the F-4 Phantom II Fighter Aircraft
- Commissioned through Georgia Tech ROTC and achieved the rank of Captain. Successfully completed flight training and served operationally in both the Pacific and NATO Commands
- Planned and led the first combat missions during Desert Storm (1990-91), completed 29 total combat sorties during the War; supervised over $50 million worth of equipment and 30 personnel as an Assistant Chief of Weapons and Tactics for the 23rd Fighter Squadron
- Chosen by the Chief of NATO Air Forces to lead electronic support aircraft for Combined Task Force Provide Comfort, the United Nations relief effort for the Kurdish people in northern Iraq (1992-93)
- Supervised 75 pilots and support personnel during three multi-national exercises flying in Korea and Japan as part of the Pacific Air Command (1987-89)
- Flew in support of the Aquino government as part of the 90th Fighter Squadron during the December 1989 coup attempt in the Republic of the Philippines (1989)
- Graduated fifth in a class of 65 student aviators; Dual rated and instructor in the F-4E Phantom II and F-4G Wild Weasel Aircraft; Qualified in nuclear weapons armament and delivery in both the Pacific and European Commands
AWARDS: Distinguished Flying Cross, USAF Air Medal (Two Oak Leafs) for heroism in Operation Desert Storm, 1991; Humanitarian Service Medal for service in Operation Provide Comfort, 1992
