Conservative Jewish men and women worldwide will celebrate the Mitzvah of Tefillin at their morning minyanim, joining thousands of other men and women in the annual “World Wide Wrap.” Rabbis and trainers will be available to teach you how to daven with tefillin. Bring your own tefillin or borrow a set from our loaner supply.

This year, we also celebrate our inaugural Man of the Year - Cary Hoffman! 

Cary was born in Waco, TX, and attended the University of Texas, earning a B.A., M.B.A., and Doctorate. In 1973, Cary bought Schoenmann Produce, which evolved into MountainKing Potatoes. What began as a russet potato business became a global operation featuring potatoes from around the world as Cary followed restaurant trends and made the same produce available to grocery shoppers.  

Cary and Marilyn Kaufman married in 1991 and have three children - Michael, Alex, and Victoria.  Since joining Beth Yeshurun, the Hoffman family has been deeply involved in the synagogue.  Cary has served on various committees, including chairing the Budget Committee, as well as on the Board of Trustees, including as Secretary and Vice President of the Executive Committee.
