Our Vision
Through education, service and practice, the Sisterhood of Congregation Beth Yeshurun will do our best work for our synagogue to maintain our Jewish traditions, heritage and values now and for future generations while balancing health, family, work and community.
Our Mission
To connect the women of Congregation Beth Yeshurun as they work, learn and grow together through Jewish programs, worship and fundraising to strengthen and perpetuate Jewish family, synagogue and community life to realize the vision of Sisterhood.

For Our Synagogue, Sisterhood: Maintains all kitchens including equipment, cookware, linens, and place settings, Maintains and staffs our profitable Gift Shop which supports many of our projects, Provides challah and wine for Friday night services, Provides cake and coffee on Saturday mornings for non Bar/Bat Mitzvah weekends, Sends gifts to clergy and staff during the High Holidays, Provides flowers for the High Holidays, and Contributes to the Hyman E. Finger Library
For Our Congregants, Sisterhood: Provides gifts to Bar/Bat Mitzvah celebrants and new brides and grooms, Provides Tanachs to our confirmands, Sends holiday packages to our college students, Provides monetary gifts to our synagogue youth attending Jewish summer camps and to our high school students traveling to Israel, Delivers lovingly baked Shiva cakes to our families who have suffered a loss, and Provides holiday treats and refreshments during Purim and Sukkot
For Our Schools, Sisterhood: Contributes to the Share the Magic fundraiser event of Beth Yeshurun Day School, Contributes to the Purim Carnival which supports Youth Activities, and Contributes funds annually to both the Day School and Religious School
For Our Community, Sisterhood: Donates to the Jewish Braille Institute, Sponsors the JCC Book Fair and the Jewish Film Festival, and Collaborates with JFS Celebration Company and Reel Abilities
For Women’s League for Conservative Judaism, Sisterhood: Supports the Jewish Theological Seminary with our Torah Fund event, and Contributes to “twin” Masorti Congregation in Israel.
