Come celebrate the New Year of the Trees with a kosher wine tasting in the style of the Tu b’Shvat seder and do a little planting, too!
In honor of the Kabbalistic Tu b’Shvat Seder’s four glasses of wine, we’ll be offering a tasting of kosher wines led by Ben Bailiff, the Texas Manager of local supplier, Royal Wine! We’ll also have lots of tasty bites and non-alcoholic drinks to go around.
Also, tradition says that if you plant parsley seeds on Tu b’Shvat, they’ll grow in time to use at your Passover seder! After our kosher wine tasting, you can get your hands a little dirty planting parsley seeds to take home and grow for your seder.
Celebrate the Jewish New Year of the Trees together and outdoors this Tu B’Shevat! Meet at 3:30 pm for some pre-clean-up snacks, and then we will start our clean-up project at about 3:45 pm. We will head out in groups to pick up trash around the lakes at Willow Water Hole.
But there’s more! The ancient mystics celebrated Tu B’Shevat with a seder to recognize all the beautiful trees and fruits and the changing of the seasons. So after you’re done cleaning up, grab a “Tu B’Shevat Seder in a Bag” to enjoy right there, or take it home and continue the celebration!
We invite you to share with us your simchas - births, engagement, weddings, or award and recognitions. Fill our Mazel Tov form with your information a picture and share your great news with the rest of the congregation. Click here to Submit your Simcha!
