Remembring Rabbi Jack Segal
Rabbi Jack Segal was a pillar of wisdom, compassion, and faith, who touched the lives of countless individuals. His impact on the lives of those he encountered was immeasurable. May his teachings and deeds continue to inspire us to be better individuals, to seek justice, and to foster love and understanding in an ever-changing world.
The family will have shiva minyanim at Congregation Beth Yeshurun Monday, July 10 through Thursday, July 13 at 6:30 PM. Reception to follow.
This 8-ounce jar of delicious kosher honey arrives in time for the Rosh Hashanah holiday, decorated with a colorful label, and includes a personalized card reading “Shana Tova—Wishing you a Healthy and Happy New Year.” This card also lets the recipients know that a donation has been made in their honor to Congregation Beth Yeshurun.

Beth Yeshurun is supporting Kids' Meals Houston's mission by participating in the 2023 Summer Juice Box Challenge. Purchase juice boxes to be sent directly to Kids' Meals Houston. Use their Juice Box Challenge website and an additional 5% of the retail value will go back to Kids' Meals Houston! Our goal is to provide 2,000 juice boxes! We have met our goal the last 2 years! Help us get there again!
You can participate online or you can also drop off juice boxes in the Administrative Lobby or the Lobby by Freedman Levit Sanctuary through July 31.
Beth Yeshurun Sisterhood and JFS/Celebration Company are partnering for the 10th year to assemble Honey-less Honey Cake Mix. Volunteers of all ages are welcome - teens can get community service hours.
The Celebration Company provides life skills and meaningful employment to individuals with disabilities who, with joy and purpose, provide services and create products that celebrate the good life. We will be assembling 500 bags of the Honey-less Honey Cake Mix and counting on 50 volunteers!
Second B’nai Mitzvah Saturday, July 22, 2023 | 9:30am
Our tradition teaches that at age 70, we “begin again,” making 83 the new 13 (Psalms 90:10)! So we are celebrating the “Second B’nai Mitzvah” of all our members born in 1940 on Saturday, July 22 at 9:30am.
All are invite to come to Shabbat morning services and stay afterward for a lovely Kiddush lunch celebrating this special shabbat.
