Sell Your Hametz No later than 10:00 AM on Friday, April 11 The Torah prohibits the ownership of hametz during Pesach, and there is a three-step process to rid oneself of it. Mechirat Hametz (selling of hametz) can be arranged until 10 A.M. on Friday, April 11, 2025. The Rabbi sells the hametz to a non-Jew and arranges for its return after the holiday. The hametz must be stored out of sight and not used. Bedikat Hametz (searching for hametz) occurs at sunset on Thursday, April 10, where we ensure all hametz is stored properly and prepare the house for Passover, traditionally using a candle, spoon, and feather. Bi'ur Hametz (burning of hametz) happens by 10 A.M. on Friday, April 11, when any remaining hametz is burned. Click here to sell you Hametz!

Carnival... The Biggest Party!
What a night! Carnival: The Biggest Party, was a true celebration of Rabbi Morgen’s incredible 27 years of leadership. Guests walked the red carpet, soaked in the steel drum tunes, and enjoyed the lively atmosphere with vibrant dancers, a Champagne Diva, and aerialists. At the heart of the night, we shared a special tribute video and book, filled with heartfelt messages from our community. We also rallied together for Paddles Up, to raise funds for something close to Rabbi Morgen's heart, Jewish education, supporting religious school scholarships and enhancing family engagement programs. If you haven’t donated yet, it’s not too late! Click here to help fulfill Rabbi Morgen’s vision for the future of Jewish education at Beth Yeshurun and to view the tribute book and video. Big thanks to our sponsors and supporters for making the event so unforgettable!
MERCAZ Voting is Open
MERCAZ represents global Conservative/Masorti values at the World Zionist Congress and the affiliated “National Institutions” like WZO, KKL/JNF, JAFI, and KH-UIA. Voting for MERCAZ USA every five years helps secure funding to promote pluralism and strengthen Masorti Judaism in Israel and supports essential funding for US synagogues, Ramah camps, USY programs, and more. In Spring 2025, voting for MERCAZ USA ensures resources reach those hardest hit on October 7th for rebuilding efforts, from investing in Gaza-area communities to supporting Israel’s hostage initiatives. Voting opens March 10th and ends May 4th. Eligible American Jews over 18 can vote online in a five-minute process for a nominal $5 fee to prevent fraud. Click here for more information.
